primer one: unlocking the fibonacci cryptex
the beginning of all projects.
this project guided me through the importance of conceptualising ideas and interpreting them through drawing representation and 3D visualisation.

the project aims to help students understand the tectonics of architecture.

dis-assemblage, re-assemblage, mapping, hierachy to create abstraction. Interpretation through abstraction represented in drawing.

relationship of how lines, planes and volumes are used to express concepts, ideas and forms.

The inspiration of having repetitive identical shapes and integrating rhythm and density would be the key focus of my model's intention. Through repetitive 'L' shaped planes, movement within the structure creates a certain form of rhythm. Density is seen through the many planes aligned differently from one another. Stability and order is portrayed as all pieces are placed in an orderly manner.
furniture workshop: the architect's chair.
a group project: the curve
this project helped me gain an understanding towards the importance of case studies and working together as a group to accomplish a task.

the design is to be inspired by 2 conditions: a chair designed by a renowned architect and the typology of a chair. task for group: 1. architect's chair: eames lounge by ray and charles eames 2. typology: rocking chair

the concept of the chair started off with a simple sphere. following the chair given, the Eames Lounge chair, we decided to use the curved plywood element and bring it forward to the Rocking chair we had to design. From the sphere, we decided to carve out a chair shape. the shape evolved into a single curved plane. To add a sense of luxury, as the Eames wanted, we decided to use padded leather as the cushioning for the chair and denser foam at bottom to keep it upright.

more in depth visualisation through 3D modelling.
primer two: rest stop
the box.
this project brought me through the crafting of spaces through the thoughtful manipulation of form, scale and controlled illumination of the space within from natural light outside.

project aim: to design a pavilion that consist of a composition of spaces and the circulation through the spaces, that manipulates light and materiality to potentially provide the user with a place of shelter and pause to enjoy the views of the site, as well as to heighten the user's senses.

documentation of emotions observed from the male protagonist of the movie: II Mare through a montage of images.

ideation through sketching, visualising concepts.

emotion of 'struggle' through a narrow and dark pathway.
project 01: the inventor's retreat
trajection.
this project exposed me to designing on a macro and micro stage. it is a consolidation of the knowledge i have gained from the first year in my studies.

understanding the site conditions and design parameters before starting the design process.

aim of project: to design a house to inspire a client who will work from home as he seeks to create new inventions. the design will be based on the inspiration from a renowned inventor's invention. the basis of an abstraction of space and form for the design has to come from understanding the invention and its inventor.
